Senior Property Accountant

We are offering a contract for a Senior Property Accountant position in Dallas, Texas. The role involves managing full cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The workplace is a hybrid model, with a blend of remote and in-office work.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy in the full cycle accounting of a portfolio of properties
• Responsible for a portfolio of properties, execute monthly financial reporting and closing for the managed properties
• Submitting bi-weekly payroll and intercompany reimbursements to the management company
• Manage weekly check runs for the assigned properties
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly
• Prepare journal entries and post in accounting system
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and various worksheets
• Calculate and record prepaid and accrued items, along with fixed assets
• Analyze financials against budget to rectify any errors
• Calculate management fees for the properties
• Import data from property management system into Yardi, or to owner software/website
• Handle phone calls to assist regional managers, property managers and staff with accounting-related issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

Prior experience required – preferably 3-5 years or more, but any will be considered

Real estate/property management experience preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel experience required

• Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting, or CPA
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Property Accountant
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated experience in general ledger management
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month end close procedures and processes
• Familiarity with Yardi property management software
• Ability to process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently
• Proven experience in property accounting
• Proficiency in management fee calculations.
