Technical Program Manager, GO-AI Technology & Development Team

Amazon Robotics develops state-of-the art robotics for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers, which handle more individual items than any company in the world. We are combining computer vision, mobile robots, advanced end-of-arm tooling and high-degree of freedom movement to solve real-world problems at huge scale.
Our team partners with a variety of customers across Amazon worldwide to conceive, develop, prototype and deploy a wide range of robotic systems. Within Amazon Robotics, Global Operations - Artificial Intelligence (GO-AI) enables Amazon to accelerate and scale our machine learning transformation via human-in-the-loop support.

GO-AI’s Technology Team is a cross-functional team of Software Developers, Technical Program Managers, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence Engineers who are responsible for the technical strategy and delivery for GO-AI.

Key job responsibilities
  • Help define GO-AI’s technology portfolio.
  • Work with GO-AI’s Software Team to define and deliver GO-AI’s software feature roadmap.
  • Identify any internal or external tooling needed, and manage make verses buy decisions.
  • Manage and lead outsourced technical service providers.
  • Engage with technology program customers to understand their GO-AI needs, and lead these ongoing customer relationships.
  • Work with DE’s and BIE’s to build GO-AI performance metrics and dashboards for programs based on their lifecycle phase (e.g. early research through KTLO transition).
  • Ensure GO-AI has successful integrations with the right tooling to support the programs.
  • With efforts from developers, help technology program customers understand the “tipping point” where their technology is mature enough to deploy to the Amazon Fulfillment Network with support from GO-AI real-time HITL annotation support.
  • Work with GO-AI’s Operations team to ensure resources are available to annotate data per customer needs.
  • Work with GO-AI’s Experiments team to assist new customers the team identifies via Go-Kit experimentation and analysis.

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience with Agile and Project Management toolsets.
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps.
  • Experience working with engineering teams developing artificial intelligence, machine learning, and/or robotic solutions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
