My client is a well-established civil construction contractor based in Chester County, PA serving PA, DE, MD, and NJ markets. They have been in business for over 25 years.

Job Description
  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the shop, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Oversee the repair, maintenance, and servicing of excavation equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and other heavy machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repair schedules, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure that all equipment is compliant with safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to schedule equipment needs for upcoming projects.
  • Lead, train, and supervise shop personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Order and manage inventory of parts and materials necessary for repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and manage the cleanliness and organization of the shop and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure the shop is equipped with the necessary tools, supplies, and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, contributing to the overall success of the company.

The Successful Applicant
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree in related field a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, heavy machinery repair, or related field.
  • Prior experience managing a shop, warehouse, or maintenance facility is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of excavation and heavy equipment operation and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using shop management software or tools for inventory and scheduling.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA certification or similar safety training is a plus.
