CT Technologist Radiology - CTTR24-13895 - Latham

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures, answering questions, and positioning them for optimal imaging while ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic images as requested by physicians. Ensure high-quality imaging by adjusting settings and utilizing appropriate techniques based on patient needs.
• Operate CT scanners and other radiology equipment. Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functioning.
• Apply knowledge of radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to both patients and staff. Properly shield patients and follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including imaging logs and documentation of performed procedures. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations.
• Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Communicate effectively about patient condition and any abnormalities seen during scans.
• Administer contrast agents when required for specific scans, ensuring patients are screened for allergies or adverse reactions. Monitor patients during procedures for any signs of discomfort or complications.
• Respond to emergency on-call situations as required, ensuring rapid and effective CT imaging during urgent cases.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, particularly HIPAA, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of CT scan technology advancements.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered CT Technologist certification (ARRT-CT) and state-specific licensure if applicable.
• Minimum 1-2 years of CT technologist experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Proficient with CT scanning technology, strong understanding of anatomy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
• Must be able to lift and position patients, stand for extended periods, and work under potentially stressful conditions.
