Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. This role is based in ANN ARBOR, Michigan, United States. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.

• Manage the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing.
• Perform bank reconciliations regularly to keep financial records updated and accurate.
• Maintain the general ledger, making necessary adjustments and corrections.
• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the month-end close activities.
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and reporting.
• Work with the Yardi Property Management system for property management related accounting tasks.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. • Possess experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Proficient in bank reconciliations and general ledger management
• Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Experience with month-end close activities
• Proficient in Yardi Property Management software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy
• Must comply with all legal and company regulations
• Experience in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry is preferred
