We are offering a contract for a Cloud Engineer position in our non-profit organization based in New York. The Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the design, implementation, and optimization of our IT infrastructure. This includes driving cloud adoption, managing cross-platform migrations, and ensuring a secure, scalable, and efficient technology environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization's Azure infrastructure.
  • Supervise the Microsoft 365 environment, including Office 365, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Intune, and Endpoint Protection.
  • Guarantee optimal performance, availability, and scalability of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Plan and administer migrations between on-premises and cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
  • Manage Windows Server environments in compliance with security best practices.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint protection and device management policies using Intune and related tools.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, optimizing where necessary.
  • Utilize tools such as Power Automate to streamline and automate workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure efficiency and implement innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand organizational needs and deliver tailored technology solutions.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to internal teams on IT infrastructure and cloud technologies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. • Proficiency in AWS Technologies, including Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon EC2
  • Demonstrated experience with Ansible for automation and orchestration
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for project management and issue tracking
  • Understanding of Auto Scaling principles for cloud-based infrastructure
  • Proven skills in API Development, including RESTful and SOAP APIs
  • Strong background in Automation for deploying, testing, and managing cloud resources
  • Hands-on experience with various Backup Technologies to ensure data protection and recovery
  • Knowledge of Cluster Analysis for managing cloud computing resources
  • Previous experience in a non-profit sector is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field is desirable, or equivalent work experience in cloud engineering.
