Cost Accountant

This role is crucial in ensuring accurate pricing of our products and maintaining standard material costs and rates.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory cost data through diligent tracking and updating.
• Maintain standard material costs and rates, including an annual evaluation of tiered pricing and purchasing patterns.
• Actively monitor potential obsolete and excess inventory, and calculate the necessary reserves for management’s review.
• Review labor and overhead rates periodically to ensure the proper pricing of our products.
• Prepare and distribute actual to budget cost center reports, inventory-related reports, and other miscellaneous month-end management reports.
• Collaborate with Operations on variance review as necessary and distribute PPV and WO Variance reports for review and sign off.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts and evaluate the adequacy of the inventory count program.
• Prepare the month-end cost accounting journal entries and monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory to the general ledger.
• Conduct the quarterly warranty reserve analysis for management review and prepare monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.
• Prepare all inventory-related reports and assist in the budget and forecasting processes as it pertains to cost of goods and manufacturing expenses.
• Handle accounting projects that will be assigned from time to time.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end audit documentation, based on requests received from our audit partners. • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cost Accounting role.
• Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is beneficial.
• Must have a working knowledge of Epicor.
• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential.
• Ability to manage a variety of Accounting Functions.
• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP).
• Should have a background in Auditing.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary.
• Proficient in managing Cash Activity.
• Experience with Annual Standard Cost is required.
• Must have knowledge in Inventory Accounting.
• Proficiency in Inventory Analysis is necessary.
• Experience with Cost - Standard is essential.
• Must have a thorough understanding of Cost Accounting.
• Ability to perform Cost Analysis is required.
