Billing Analyst

We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Billing Analyst for a software company. As a Billing Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing customer billing processes, resolving issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex data consolidation processes to ensure accurate and timely customer billing
• Conduct detailed billing research to find appropriate solutions for compliance standards and high-quality customer service
• Review contract terms and bill customers for new sales and renewals
• Address and resolve billing discrepancies by responding to inquiries and generating credit memos when necessary
• Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to improve and develop scalable internal customer billing processes
• Participate in month-end closing activities to support timely task completion, journal entries, and reporting analytics
• Provide assistance for external audits and respond to internal and customer/vendor inquiries
• Handle vendor onboarding requests
• Contribute to other projects on the accounting team as required
• Ensure adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Leverage strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas and pivot tables, to perform tasks
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the finance industry.
• Proficiency in accounts receivable (AR) is mandatory.
• Proven experience in auditing, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of billing functions and processes.
• Demonstrated experience in billing, including the preparation, review, and reconciliation of bills.
• Experience in conducting month-end close procedures.
• Knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) billing systems would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and resolving any discrepancies.
• Strong skills in account analysis, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
