Licensed Practical Nurse - $2500 Sign on Bonus - Ware County Sheriff's Office
Location: Waycross, GA
Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.00 Hourly
We are currently seeking a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse and PRN Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team at Ware County Sheriff’s Office located in Waycross, Georgia.

About this position:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing care for and treating detainees in a correctional setting. Correctional nurses administer both routine and emergency medical care and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
Education- Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license
- Current Basic Life Support
- Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Available shift:
- 7A-7P - Day Shift
- 3P-11P - Mid Shift
- 7P-7A - Night Shift
- PRN Availability
- Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, weight checks, nebulizer treatments, etc. as ordered by a licensed medical provider.
- Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
- Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director and document administration as required by GENESYS Health policy/procedure
- Carries out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN
- Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as well as keeping safety top priority.
- Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients
