Electrical Project Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled contract Engineer to assist with the final phases of construction the production unit at their chemical plant. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of production, process, and plant engineers, as well as mechanical and electrical resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the installation and startup of electrically powered equipment such as pumps, agitators, centrifuges, and fans, as well as chemical processing instrumentation, including actuated valves, level devices, temperature sensors, and flow meters.
• Work closely with Contractors to solicit and review proposals, award contracts, and act as the project engineer for discrete tasks.
• Ensure proper selection and installation of electrical components (wire, cable, conduit, junctions, fittings, etc.) in electrically classified areas.
• Supervise the installation of process control systems, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication networks, ensuring specifications are met.
• Collaborate with Contractors and ResinTech employees to plan, install, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, and optimize electrical and process control systems.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and pre-startup safety reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with the commissioning of new chemical production units, including water testing, electrical/process control equipment adjustment, and startup involving flammable or reactive chemicals.
