Staff or Senior Accountant - Revere, MA - Full Time - Compensation DOE

This Robert Half partner organization is seeking a full-time, permanent Staff or Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This newly created position requires a candidate with at least 3+ years of general accounting experience. Experience in grant accounting and real estate accounting is highly desirable, though training can be provided for the right candidate.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and overseeing business transactions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The role involves detailed analytical work and a comprehensive review of financial records.

You will report directly to the Director of Finance.

Schedule: It is highly preferred that the person in this seat if comfortable working fully in office 5 days a week, but we are open to considering candidates in a hybrid capacity depending on experience. This position will not consider candidates who require a fully remote working arrangement.

Staff Accountant compensation range: $25 – 30hr (Depending on experience)

Senior Accountant compensation range: $33 – 50hr (Depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the organization's General Ledger accounts and business transactions, adhering to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Perform thorough review of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Conduct analytical work to assess financial performance and make recommendations for improvements
  • Handle the processing of journal entries, month-end closing, and year-end closings
  • Manage functions related to property accounting, grant accounting, and credit card accounting
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Perform account reconciliation to maintain accurate records
  • Utilize software systems such as Yardi and Workday for various accounting functions
  • Manage the fixed asset depreciation process and execute accrual accounting tasks
  • Conduct auditing tasks as needed to ensure the validity and reliability of financial information
