Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's food safety and quality strategy in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and other relevant bodies.
- Quality Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems and standards to ensure consistent product quality and safety.
- Risk Management: Identify potential food safety risks and quality issues, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the food safety and quality team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Audits and Inspections: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits and inspections, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about food safety and quality standards and practices.
- Customer Relations: Address customer complaints and quality concerns, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation in food safety and quality practices, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on food safety and quality performance, including key metrics, compliance status, and improvement initiatives

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (Master's degree or relevant certification preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food safety and quality management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of successful team leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
