Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer Intern to join the Building Control Systems Wattstopper Team in Carlsbad, CA. The successful candidate will be working individually or as part of a design team documenting, evaluating, and verifying system- and device-level requirements, architectures, and interface specifications.This role will support Wattstopper’s Lighting Management solutions.
Legrand’s Wattstopper product line of Lighting Control Systems and Services is the most comprehensive line of simple, scalable, and flexible energy-efficient lighting and plug load controls for commercial applications. Wattstopper’s industry-leading energy efficient lighting controls technology and services offering are designed to meet code, ensure ease of installation, and enable precision control of natural and artificial light in offices, classrooms, hospitals, and more.
What Will You Do?- Participate in systems engineering processes, including requirements identification, decomposition, traceability, and documentation.
- Assist the Systems and Software Engineering teams in evaluating software source code, algorithms, and capabilities, against system requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers on testing, verification, and validation activities.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of technical documents, including system requirement specifications.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence related to Systems Engineering projects.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
Education:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, at an accredited university.
Experience:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across the organization.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Must demonstrate ability to follow a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control multiple tasks at various stages of work.
- Must be an effective listener, able to extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Experience or exposure working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Pay Range: $22.00-$25.00/hourly
