Maintenance Technician

What You’ll Do:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, from coolers and freezers to lighting and shelving.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems and address them before they impact operations.
- Collaborate with store management and contractors to support facility upgrades and special projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 1-2 years of maintenance experience, ideally in a fast-paced retail or supermarket environment.
- Skills: technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration, ventilation, and other essential systems.
- Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Licenses: Certifications in Electrical, HVAC, or Refrigeration are a big plus.

Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on building systems, equipment, and utilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facility components.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, door and window repairs, light fixture replacements, and furniture adjustments.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and system failures, recommend necessary parts, and perform effective repairs to minimize downtime.
- Operate, maintain, and install critical building systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, emergency generators, and lab gas distribution systems.
- Collaborate with contractors and Project Management Teams to support facility upgrades and maintenance projects.
- Proactively identify maintenance needs through scheduled inspections and develop documentation to support maintenance operations.
Skills/Requirements:
- Relevant and valid licenses in Electrical, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Gas, compliant with statutory safety standards, are considered an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience in repair and maintenance within a fast-paced retail environment, preferably supermarkets.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Technical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, cabinet coolers, split systems, compressors, and refrigeration systems.
- Bi-lingual - Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin speaking a plus)
