The Simulation and Training Solutions group is looking for a skilled Electromechanical Drafter/Designer professional to join our team in Sterling, VA! You will participate in the development, modification, integration, and testing of aircraft and ground vehicle training simulators for military and commercial applications.Our devices range in complexity from simple desktop trainers to high-fidelity full flight training systems. You will work on both clean-sheet and design reuse projects, creating mechanical equipment facsimiles, I/O packaging, standard electronics cabinets, and custom mechanical support structures and enclosures.
Experience with traditional sheet metal fabrication, machined parts, and weldments is a must, and additive methods are sometimes used for prototype parts. Join us in creating cutting-edge training simulators using commercial off-the-shelf and custom hardware assemblies.
What You Will Do- Independently update and process electrical design documentation, to include redline incorporation, change notice submittal, and configuration management processing
- Under limited supervision, ability to create electrical documentation to include cable assemblies, cable and wire lists, and schematics.
- Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices, ASME Y14.100
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- A team player with a high level of initiative and ability to work in an environment of rapidly changing priorities
- Ability to successfully learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Capable of building relationships with internal customers, understanding their program needs and challenges, and effectively communicating an approach to solving their problems
- Work with Export / Import personnel to ensure requirements are met for Engineering documentation
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (Do D) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
- Solid 3D CAD Modeling skills (preferably Solidworks)
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools
- Experience creating documentation needed to support design, manufacturing, and production
- Knowledge of Engineering Drafting and Industry Standards
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, casting, and manufacturing processes

The salary range for this role is 48,000 USD - 112,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
