Food Service Receiver

Performs Various Routing Duties To Receive, Store And Issue Supplies And Compile Inventory Within The Food And Nutrition Department.

Responsibilities:
- 1. Checks in all order according to invoice and communications all changes to Executive Chef. Takes temperatures of delivered food items and ensures quality and freshness.
- 2. Fills and delivers supply requisitions from kitchen, cafeteria and coffee shop. Enters all data from requisitions into handheld device.
- 3. Participates in a two-person inventory system along with a Manager to inventory all food, paper, and chemicals throughout the department on a weekly/monthly basis.
- 4. Ensures that stocks and supplies are adequate, and are stored in a manner that preserves their quality. Ensures that FIFO system is used to minimize waste.
- 5. Communicates with management and makes recommendations regarding non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock.
- 6. Follows daily/weekly cleaning schedule to maintain storage areas, refrigeration, freezer equipment and shelving, in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition throughout department and coffee shop.
- 7. Alerts Manager to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment or unusual conditions.
- 8. Participates in Quality Assurance Programs as assigned.
- 9. Maintains department records, reports and files as required according to established policies, procedures and schedules.
- 10. Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self Development as outlined in performance review.
- 11. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three Months Of Previous Experience Sufficient To Acquired Knowledge Of Inventory And Receiving Methods And Practices.
LICENSURE
Valid drivers license and the ability to complete the assigned coursework to maintain Hospital insurance eligibility.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Able To Read, Write And Speak English; Able To Perform Simple Mathematical Calculations, Additions, Subtraction, Multiplication, And Division.
