Senior Accountant

Chris Preble is working with a North Syracuse client of his with great work life balance and benefits. This Senior Accountant role is essential to their finance team, playing a crucial part in helping to manage financial procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic insights to enhance financial performance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Help lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to develop annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement and make strategic recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, and more.
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.
• Ability to manage General Ledger and Journal Entries.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
