Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the real estate industry, based in New York. The Staff Accountant will be integral in managing and organizing financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, and processing payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Process payroll for the company's employees
• Maintain and update financial records and statements
• Conduct general ledger tasks and journal entries
• Perform bank reconciliations regularly
• Oversee and manage the month end close process
• Utilize Yardi software for various accounting tasks
• Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Respond to and resolve any financial inquiries or issues
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the real estate industry.
• Proficiency in using accounting software, specifically Yardi.
• Extensive experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Solid understanding of General Ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations and Journal Entries.
• Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
