In this newly created role, you will lead a highly skilled, geographically diverse cloud operations team that is responsible for the management and monitoring of our multi-cloud ecosystem. You will engage with peer leaders to drive improvements, senior leadership on strategy and investments needed to mature the environment and provide leadership to the broader organization outside of this value stream.A key focus area will be to shepherd Eaton through a digital transformation that is not only about technology, but a shift in culture.
As a senior leader in the cloud operations space, you will identify opportunities and lead your team in implementing solutions that will improve the operations of the cloud environment. You will identify and help drive solutions that require collaboration with peer groups and report on those outcomes.By refining and automating key processes, you will help offset significant resource growth. You will have management over incidents and requests of the Multi-Cloud environment on a day-to-day basis and will track patterns and trends, taking action to address them.
You will be a proficient communicator at all levels, including direct interactions with senior leaders. Additionally, you will provide mentorship, career guidance, and regular feedback to your direct team and serve as a mentor for junior resources across the organization.
In this role, you will especially focus on ensuring the team drives Dev Ops, Security, and agile methodologies into all aspects of the platform.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with thought leaders across IT and the Businesses to drive business-focused outcomes
- Deliver metric driven outcomes and effectively communicate status and trends to leadership
- Be visible outside of our direct sphere of responsibility, providing leadership to the broader organization
- Continue to evolve the operations team as they grow and the Cloud space matures
- Work with Architects and Engineering to identify opportunities for improvements in the cloud environment
- Establish processes and methods to efficiently operate and manage a multi-cloud ecosystem with agility and velocity
- Interface with key vendors on cloud operations and on-going management
- Collaborate with the Site Reliability Team (SRE) team to improve reliability of the environment through practical application and feedback
- Drive refinement of metrics that are SMART, drive action from those metrics and report outcomes to senior leadership
- Drive security into every aspect of our platform and collaborate with CYBER to provide a highly secure environment
- Heavy collaboration with CYBER on the processes and response to security events
- Drive Zero Trust operational initiatives to a successful completion
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience within an IT function and/or consulting team
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud computing/technology experience
- No relocation is provided for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of one of our listed Eaton locations in the United States to be considered for this opportunity.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States on a continuous basis without company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sophisticated, global, matrixed organizations within a world class IT function
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience over a cloud operations team
- Strong background in automation, and familiarity with Terraform
- Experience leading large-scale IT projects, preferably in the cloud migration space
- Comfortability with Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Experience managing budgets and financials associated with large scale projects
Skills:
- Expertise in Cloud Computing and Networking
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices.
- Proven ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment across global, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in setting strategic vision, empowering team members, and providing mentorship to drive professional growth and innovation.
- Expertise in implementing iterative processes, adapting to changing requirements, and promoting open communication and collaboration to ensure responsive and effective cloud operations.
