MES Project Manager

Job Description:

• Abbott is looking for an MES Project Manager to join the Manufacturing Execution Systems group within the Business Solutions & Services Plan/Build organization. The Project Manager will work under the direction of a Sr. Program Manager and is responsible to lead delivery of key IT programs in the manufacturing domain.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Lead cross functional teams in IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and various other teams to drive the end-to-end delivery of manufacturing systems.
• Partner with program team, to plan and organize milestones
• Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and program milestones
• Establishes priorities of program teams, selects methods and techniques to lead a program to completion
• Direct program execution by assigning tasks, tracking schedules, identifying risks and developing and executing contingency plans
• Resolve program issues by working across functions and divisions
• Strategy and Collaboration
• Creation of program plans, estimate program effort, resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope and effort
• Provide support for Project Capital spending requests including delivery estimates.
• Communication
• Communicate program status, by preparing standard status reports and participating in program and project status update meetings
• Communicates with the team, business and key stakeholders frequently and effectively

• 2+ years Project Management experience in a complex matrix organization managing IT projects.
• Experience navigating large organizations and an understanding of complex stakeholder relationships
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Sharepoint and MS Team
• Strong leadership skills and a passion for translating findings into strategic recommendations
• Ability to look at a set of needs across the business and identify key questions, themes, and potential for business impact
• 25% travel required
• Bachelors degree is required

Preferred:

• Manufacturing Execution Systems experience and/or healthcare experience considered a plus.
• PMP is considered a plus

Salary: $43.00 - $44.00 per hour
