The Nurse Educator NICU will join the Nursing Education team, working in the Women & Children Services department which supports over 3,000 annual births a year, and includes their LD beds, triage, designed LDORs, a bed mother baby unit and their Level III NICU.
Responsibilities of the NICU Nursing Educator include partnering with the Director of Women and Children Services and Nurse Manager NICU develop evidence-based guidelines, policies and procedures, identify learning needs of the unit to create curriculum and programs offered to new hires and current department staff, and coordinate new hire orientation.Additionally, the Nurse Educator NICU will cross collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other nurse leaders and educators, update policy procedures, ensure state and regulatory compliance is maintained throughout the unit, and ultimately be a resource and mentor to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU team.
The NICU Nursing Educator should be a seasoned nurse, ideally holding or enrolled in their MSN, along with a recent clinical background working in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU.
