Job Summary:

The US Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and coordinating the transportation of these goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. This role involves overseeing purchasing processes, managing on-time in full shipments, handling overseas transportation logistics, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Purchasing Management:
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to support company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Management to ensure optimal stock levels; holding monthly buy meetings
  • Manage the ordering process, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Track inventory movements and adjust purchasing plans as needed to align with inventory requirements at each facility
  1. Transportation Coordination:
  • Plan and coordinate overseas transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods from suppliers to appropriate 3PL locations
  • Monitor and track inbound shipments to address any issues or delays.
  1. Supplier and Carrier Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with logistics, suppliers and transportation providers
  • Evaluate supplier and carrier performance regularly and address any issues or discrepancies.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing and transportation activities, including costs, performance metrics, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, customs documentation and transportation arrangements
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Logistics, Finance and Head Office to ensure inventory levels are maintained and delivery dates are clearly communicated across business
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field or
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing and transportation
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). NetSuite Experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management including customs, logistics and transportation regulations
