Robert Half is partnering with a non-profit based in the West Los Angeles area to help them find an accounting clerk to support their accounting operations. Our clients team is passionate about making a positive impact in our community, and we are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their growing finance team on a temp to hire basis.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Accounting Clerk to provide general support to our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred, as the successful candidate will assist with data entry, financial reconciliations, and other day-to-day accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Process and code invoices, payments, and receipts accurately in QuickBooks.
- Maintain and update financial records and ledgers.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, budget tracking, and monthly close procedures.
- Support with payroll processing, including data entry and verifying timecards.
- Assist with preparing documents for audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage and file receipts, invoices, and other accounting documentation in an organized manner.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and donors regarding financial transactions.
- Other general accounting and administrative support duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in an accounting role, ideally within a non-profit organization.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is a significant plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior non-profit accounting experience is a plus but not required.
