Procurement Analyst Intern

Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, the Procurement Analyst Intern will be a key contributor to establishing key KPI's, advancing the accuracy of our procurement master data, and improving the procure to pay process. The role will also support category value tracking and reporting, supplier performance; process analysis and enablement support; and supporting other infrastructure development and continuous improvement as required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Working towards completion of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Data Analytics
- Advanced Computer and Excel Skills required
- Microsoft Office skills, SAP, Power BI, Reporting programs
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
- An interest and knowledge base of end-to-end supply chain best practices
- Understanding of MRP and replenishment methods
- Operates with a sense of urgency, including ability to identify opportunities for improvements and developing solutions
- End-to-end Supply Chain process knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, financial, and P&L skills
- Ability to calculate and communicate cost impacts
- Attention to detail, time management, and deadline expectations
- Ability to work collaboratively with people across all levels and departments
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced corporate office environment working primarily inside. This position is local to our corporate headquarters in Itasca IL and would be eligible for our Hybrid work policy at manager
discretion. This position may also travel as needed. All Ajinomoto Travel policies will apply and must be followed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position will be performed primarily by sitting or standing at a desk and 90% of the time computer use will be required.
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scrubbing, inputting, and maintaining data in our SAP system
- Being a key member of technology tool launches through testing applications to deploying and maintaining
- Responsible for contributing to enhancing procurement analytics to help build, deploy, and execute category and commodity management processes. Will also support complex analytics including ad hoc analysis on complex categories, along with analyzing supplier offers.
- Support procurement reporting activities (KPI Reporting, Monthly Compliance Dashboard, Managing Approval Workflows)
- Identify and report gaps within areas of responsibility to Category Manager in current process, standards, systems, tools, and best practices
- Establish, maintain, and stand-up contract adherence in SAP
- Perform research to solve procurement, vendor, contract, invoice, and payment related challenges, using the data and systems available
- Contribute to projects and activities as part of larger initiatives
- Travel as needed
Salary Range: $20.00- $25.00
