Job Description

The Key Responsibilities for the Asst Plant Manager are:

  • Operational Support: Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring production schedules are met while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and food safety standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high-quality production practices.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise plant staff, including training, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Production Management: Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Inventory Control: Assist in managing inventory levels, including raw materials and finished products, ensuring adequate supply while minimizing waste.
  • Safety Protocols: Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Asst Plant Manager Candidate in Los Angeles will have:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or processing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations and food safety standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
  • Not for New York City Applicants.
