Logistic Support Specialist

The Logistics Support Specialist is responsible for transportation planning and end-to-end execution of Merchandise and Non-Merchandise with origins and destinations throughout North America along with various reporting, tracking and customer service tasks.
- Planning and execution involves partnering with various shipping sites and carriers via phone, email and systemically via a TMS to ensure timely pick ups and deliveries; Customer Service tracking and providing feedback on in-transit and completed shipments leveraging EDI technology to assure compliance to business expectations are met.
- Working closely with all customers / partners and carriers to be able to execute the business direction of specific projects as well as overall needs.
- Specialists also work with Billing / Invoicing, transportation reporting, systemic enhancements in partnership with MGT, local and yard trailer moves, and other various functions / projects to service our customers.
- This role is directly responsible for making decisions for each shipment planned through the TMS ultimately touching over $135M of annual spend.
- Prior experience in Transportation, Warehousing or Distribution is required
- Pursues work with energy, drive, and a strong accomplishment orientation, possesses integrity, interpersonal and solid communication skills, customer service experience is required, operates successfully within a team and among a variety of both internal and external customers
- Demonstrates ability to be agile and organized within a fast-paced environment, adapts to change, demonstrates sense of urgency through timely follow-up and follow-thought on all assignments
- Effective communication both written and oral and strong ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving work environment, possesses working knowledge and experience with technology and systems application used to support transportation (Excel, Access, and Transportation Management Systems).
