Job Title: Associate Director, Business Insights

Location: Boston or Dallas

The Associate Director, Business Insights is responsible and accountable for providing both fact and insights based solutions that will drive growth for Galderma, the category, and the customer. Must be able to thoroughly analyze data and leverage insights gained from analysis to develop actionable recommendations for product development direction, sales presentations, communications initiatives and forecasting.

Key to the responsibilities is proficiency in data analytics (including pulling data from a commercial data warehouse) and ensuring all reports and analytics are accurate with exceptional attention to detail. Also important is understanding the intended audience and creating presentations that provide the proper information for decision making.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide insights regarding the market, trends, new market opportunities, competitors, potential and existing customers, and marketing campaigns to evaluate the company’s market position.
  • Convert data into actionable business intelligence that will drive revenue and profit for assigned business unit as well as identify trends for commercial forecasting and product supply planning.
  • Complete sales performance decomposition of sales, marketing and trade programs across multiple categories and provide retailer insights with account specific opportunities and action plans to drive sales growth.
  • Proactively defines and structures data driven analyses to create the brand story and narrative with clear and concise recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Works directly with Marketing, Sales, Trade / Market Access, Insights, Finance, Supply Chain teams to address various business issues and provide solutions through analytical problem solving, defining risks and opportunities associated with the forecast.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert with syndicated scan data, shopper insights, panel and retailer loyalty data.
  • Utilizes and integrates internal and external data and reports including but not limited to IRI, Nielsen, Retail Link and proprietary commercial data warehouse.
  • Develop data visualizations and analysis that convey complex and insightful information in an understandable and appealing manner.
  • Lead commercial remit for supply planning including running and presenting in meetings, conducting multiple scenario analyses, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Cleans and checks data and updates market intelligence databases.

Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or a related field required
  • 8+ years of analytic experience in a similar role required
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver insights from data and turn into commercialized initiatives
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience in market interpretation and product forecasting with strong track record of documented success.
  • Strong business acumen who has translational capabilities between data analytics and business questions
  • Must be proficient with MS Office as well as most current specialized software products pertaining to marketing analysis, data analysis, and reporting such as (but not limited to) IRI, Nielsen, Retail Link and proprietary commercial data warehouse.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
  • Experience extracting data from commercial data warehouse and working with BI tools to communicate data insights in impactful and visual ways across multiple levels of the organization. Understanding of relation databases and ability to link multiple datasets with different attributes to reach a specific end point.
  • Proficient in a variety of data management and analytical tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI. Nice to have SQL coding experience.
  • Demonstrated high resilience and agility as well as a keen analytical mindset, curiosity, and ability to proactively anticipate points of confusion.
  • Proven experience communicating complex analyses in a simple and clear manner.
  • Superb verbal and written communications skills.
