Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
The Corporate Security Director is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the headquarters, which houses approximately 1200 employees. This role involves overseeing all security operations, managing vendor relationships, and analyzing security trends and insights to enhance the company's safe and secure operations.In addition, the role provides security counsel to executive leadership on potential threat situations (whether internal employee situations or external situations).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily security operations at the headquarters.
- Coordinate with external security vendors to ensure compliance with security protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments and provides insights and recommendations to leadership on appropriate actions to take.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Investigate security breaches, develop and recommend solutions and/or actions required and prepares post incident analysis to determine if changes are required to prevent similar future incidents.
- Monitor and analyze security trends and incidents.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the company’s executive team.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate security risks.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees on site and consult with other company locations to coordinate any required training as identified.
- Ensure that vendor personnel are adequately trained and certified.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems (e.g., surveillance cameras, access control systems).
- Ensure the effective use of security technology to protect the premises.
- May require occasional travel to other company locations.
- 24 hour on-call availability for security emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate security or a related role.
- Previous military experience is a preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are a plus.
- Proficiency in security technology and systems.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
