Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.
• Maintaining precise records of customer credit accounts.
• Responding to and resolving customer inquiries related to account balances and payment statuses.
• Identifying and correcting payment posting errors, and communicating these to the relevant staff.
• Researching and resolving claims rejected by payers.
• Communicating any identified billing and coverage concerns to the billing and front office staff.
• Identifying facility errors and producing corrective action plans accordingly.
• Researching outstanding credit balances and preparing requests for refunds.
• Assisting in developing strategies to reach team goals and maintain productivity levels.
• Providing necessary training to team members and monitoring their progress.
• Creating reports to update the organization on the progress of the Billing Department.

• Proficiency in using Epic Software for various accounts receivable tasks
• Extensive experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice preparation, payment collection, and reconciliation
• Familiarity with various billing functions and ability to streamline them for efficiency
• Capability to manage cash activity, including recording transactions, maintaining cash flow documents, and ensuring accuracy in cash handling
• Experience in handling cash and ensuring correct and safe practices are followed
• Knowledge of medical insurance policies, procedures, and claim processes
• Expertise in medical insurance billing, including claim submission, payment tracking, and resolving discrepancies.
