Data Scientist (Analytics)
Duties:
Link data and information together in new innovative ways in constructing client-focused products (dashboards) leading to actionable intelligence for business and government decision makers [20% of time]. Execute data analysis from project and sample design, business review meetings with internal and external clients deriving requirements/deliverables, reception and processing of data, performing analyses to final reports/presentation, communication of results and sales support [65%].
Demonstrate to internal and external customers how analysis can be implemented to maximize business strategies including cost-benefit analyses [10%]. Support and train team members [5%].
Requires a Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field; plus 1 year of Data Scientist/Analyst or related experience. Requires 1 year of experience in the following: 1) Statistical and machine learning including GLM, GBM, Tree Models, Clustering; 2) Feature engineering and selection methodologies including principal components, algorithmic selection methods for identifying uncorrelated variable subsets; 3) Databases across a variety of environments including Snowflake, AWS s3, Redshift, and SQL Server; 4) Associated language processing - NPL, regular expressions; 5) Big data platforms including Hadoop, Hive, and AWS; 6) Big data analysis including MapReduce and AWS; and 7) Statistical computer languages including R and Python.
