Summary of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA):
Provides quality rehabilitation care to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist as outlined in the plan of care in accordance with laws, regulations, and Facility guidelines.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA):
- Current COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) License
- Current CPR
- At least one (1) experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA):
- Implement and execute established patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
- Communicate with patience, families, referring physicians, and other members of the team.
- Provide timely written documentation per facility and department requirements.
- Develop and enhance clinical and professional skills through knowledge and professional association.
- Provide timely written documentation as required.
- Support and participate in department operations and development.
- Report any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
- Prepare and submit patient charges accurately to access appropriate billing information.
- Coordinate treatment goals with other team members.
