We are seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst II to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers during all phases of the commercial underwriting process, which includes new requests, renewals, and annual reviews of existing relationships.
Primary roles:
- Underwrite larger and more complex commercial credit exposure within the Commercial Lending portfolio.
- Organize relevant financial data. Spread and evaluate audited, reviewed, and company-prepared financials in addition to corporate and personal tax returns and personal financial statements.
- Prepare cash flow charts, test covenants, and assess collateral coverage positions.
- Prepare credit proposal summaries for credit officers, senior executives, and Board members.
- Written content within proposals includes a summary of the evaluative framework used to capture the default risk and recovery prospects of a transaction. Topics include, but are not limited to: financial performance evaluation, cash flow generation, risk ratings, debt capacity, borrowing base monitoring, collateral evaluation, and projected outlook.
- Develop and evaluate projections and responsiveness evaluation.
- Assess and recommend financial and negative covenants.
- Complete various training assigned by Manager, which may be outside normal business hours and off-site.
- From time to time, the position may require attending off-site client and prospect meetings.
Accountable for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position including the Univest Code of Conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics. Other Bachelor’s degrees considered with commercial lending experience.
Minimum twelve to twenty-four months (12-24 months) commercial banking underwriting experience required. Skills required include: credit risk evaluation, financial statement evaluation, commercial loan underwriting, and succinct business writing.Knowledge of traditional C&I,
Commercial Construction, Commercial Mortgage, and SBA program loan structures, covenants, and documentation.
Strong organizational, evaluative, and communication skills. Ability to work within compressed deadlines. Comfortable with interacting with executive management. Prior attendance of formal commercial credit training program or regulatory environment preferred.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Wage Range:
The salary for this position starts at $50,000+
