Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Progressive Care Unit registered nurse provides direct patient care, with a 1:3 ratio in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Progressive Care Unit. The registered nurse is a supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for the vulnerable patients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Current California R.N. Licensure.

Current BLS and ACLS Certifications.

Minimum of (1) year nursing experience in Definitive Observation/ Step Down/ Progressive Care Setting.

Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.

Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.

Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
