You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the lathe and contributing to the success of our manufacturing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES-Lathe Machine Operation: Operate the lathe machine to perform turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations on workpieces as per provided instructions and drawings.-Workpiece Loading/Unloading: Safely load raw materials or workpieces onto the lathe's chuck or spindle, ensuring proper alignment and securing them for machining.Unload finished parts and inspect them for quality.-Tool Selection and Setup: Select and mount appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders based on job requirements. -Ensure tools are in good condition and meet quality standards before initiating the machining process.-Machining Execution: Start and monitor the lathe machine during the machining process, adjusting cutting parameters as needed to achieve desired dimensions and surface finishes.-Quality Assurance: Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.-Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool wear, vibrations, or material defects.
Make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production.-Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the lathe, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out or damaged components. Report any significant maintenance needs to supervisors or maintenance personnel.-Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of production activities, including job setup details, tool changes, inspection results, and any issues encountered during the machining process.-Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the lathe machine.
Follow company policies and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.-Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality. Suggest and implement initiatives to optimize lathe operations.
