Public Health Informaticist
Founded in 2004, BME Strategies is a Massachusetts-based consulting firm specializing in providing Public Health design and implementation programming for local, regional and state governments.
Position Overview- Data Integration and Management: Support the integration of diverse public health data sources into the Local Public Health Data Solution using tools like Salesforce, Snowflake, Amazon Web Services, and Informatica to create a centralized and accessible data analytics platform.
- Public Health Informatics & Visualization Expertise: Provide expertise in managing, analyzing, and visualizing environmental and public health data to guide data-driven decision-making for local public health and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).
- Metrics and Evaluation: Identify and define metrics to evaluate performance standards, quality improvement initiatives, and program efficiency, ensuring alignment with local public health priorities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Assist Analytics Business Owner and act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams to translate public health analytic needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Data to Action Framework: Develop and implement strategies to transform data into actionable insights, focusing on public health trends, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Data Analytics and Visualization: Design, update, and maintain Tableau dashboards and Salesforce Reports/Dashboards to monitor key metrics, identify trends, and support data-informed decision-making at the local and state levels.
- Project Management: Lead project management efforts, including effective communication with partners, backlog grooming and maintenance, task management, and timely project delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with local public health partners to understand data needs, provide technical assistance, and create training resources such as guides, cheat sheets, and presentations.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all reports, dashboards, and data sources.
- Process Improvement: Analyze complex workflows and processes to develop a streamlined, efficient solution.
Requirements

- Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Informatics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in governmental public health (federal, state, local, etc.).
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working with public health data (experience with environmental health data, such as lead, asbestos, drinking water, well drilling, etc., is a plus).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Tableau for data visualization
- Experience with Salesforce (Public Sector Solutions preferred) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Mulesoft, Amazon Web Services, Informatica, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in agile project management methodologies.
- Knowledge: Understanding of public health quality improvement, evaluation frameworks, and local public health operations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on bridging technical and business needs.
- Expected salary range is $79,000-$120,000/annually
