We are offering an opportunity for an Import/Export Compliance Specialist in Hialeah, Florida. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products are shipped in compliance with international regulations, including import/export laws and ATF requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and overseeing all regulatory matters and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations for international shipping and customs processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company policies to ensure compliance with all relevant international shipping and customs regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret local, federal, and international trade and customs laws, including tariff schedules and import/export requirements.
  • Lead all compliance efforts related to ATF regulations, including recordkeeping, reporting, and documentation for the shipping of regulated goods.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, including preparing for ATF or customs inspections and working with legal teams to address any compliance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with logistics, legal, and operations teams to ensure compliance processes are integrated into daily business operations.
  • Develop and deliver regulatory training programs for staff to ensure compliance awareness and adherence to all customs and international shipping regulations.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of all required shipping, customs, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks related to international shipping and customs.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management, regulatory agencies, and internal audits.
  • Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience of logistics or import/export or related industry experience
  • Proficiency in using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software for managing interactions with clients.
  • Expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to integrate and manage main business processes.
  • Familiarity with auditing procedures to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills for clear and concise exchange of information with team members and clients.
  • Strong customer service skills to manage and fulfil client needs effectively.
  • Experience in handling import and export processes, including documentation ATF EXPERIENCE strongly preferred
  • Understanding of import laws to ensure compliance with regulations in international trading.
  • Proven ability to prepare and manage import-export documents
