Procurement Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Procurement Specialist to join our team in the non-profit sector in Largo, Maryland. The role involves careful review of purchase requisitions, vendor communication, and material inventory management. This opportunity offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with vendors to ensure high-quality products and negotiate the best possible pricing
• Handle various procurement requests such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Bids (RFBs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and others
• Utilize state procurement systems appropriately and coordinate with prospective vendors for necessary disclosures and certifications
• Provide necessary support to the Procurement and Contracts Director in contract processing and key date tracking
• Enforce contract performance requirements in accordance with terms, conditions, and specifications
• Undertake administrative tasks associated with contracts, monitor contractor performance and compliance
• Collaborate with departments to draft specifications, solicit vendor quotes, complete small business waiver requests, and liaise with county procurement professionals for necessary approvals
• Maintain effective communication regarding daily and divisional operations
• Prepare contract request forms as required. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement role within a non-profit organization.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CRM and ERP solutions.
• Solid understanding of budget processes and buying processes.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Experience in invoice processing and management.
• Familiarity with government procurement procedures.
• Proven ability to prepare and analyze proposals and RFPs.
• Knowledge of contract pricing and negotiation strategies.
• Proficiency in using Yardi software.
• Experience with federal funding procurement is a plus.
