Duties and Responsibilities
-Room patient and obtain vital signs-Obtain surveillance questionnaires and consent forms.-Assist the provider with patient examinations.-Accurately interpret instructions and communicate clinical information to patients related to provider's orders.-Use of an electronic medical record system for appointment scheduling, check in, and scheduling follow up appointments.-Draw blood; perform patient injections (vaccinations) as directed by provider; administer clinical screening tests, e.g.
hearing tests, visual test screening, pulmonary function tests, urine collection-Schedule and follow up on patient appointments; accurately provide information within defined limits and answer basic questions.-Prepare blood for laboratory tests; ensure samples are ready for delivery with all appropriate documentation.-Update and chart electronic patients and office databases.
-Respond to first level inquiries from patients, HR, university departments, and outside of the university.-Follow up with vendors, pharmacist, labs, and referral doctors.Purchase office and clinic supplies as directed.
Check and perform quality control prior to any use of equipment.-Provide back up to front desk reception staff in answering telephones, retrieving voicemail messages, and checking the clinic's email box for follow up.
