About the job
The Platform Stateful Services team in the Platform Services division is looking for a Software Developer. This team is responsible for the deployment experience for the SAS Viya Platform. As a member of this team, you will help align the Viya architecture and deployment with Kubernetes, expand and embrace Kubernetes technology adoption, and develop deployment-focused and tooling to maintain Viya Platform deployment readiness.
As a Software Developer, you will:
- Code per specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with teammates to solve problems.
- Ensure quality by creating and supporting automated tests with extensive code coverage.
- Evolve software architecture to meet changes in requirements.
- Scope requirements and estimate effort.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and use them appropriately.
- Support internal and external customers.
- Write documentation.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 2-5 years of experience as a developer on large software projects
- Effective communication and strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with integration, regression, and unit testing
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Familiarity with a CI/CD environment
- Familiarity with developing applications in Kubernetes
- Experience with Golang
- Familiarity with git
- Familiar with various cloud environments and concepts
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using Docker
- Experience using Linux
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with the AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
- Experience with the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Experience with the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Experience with using GitHub for source management
- Experience with GitHub Workflows
- Working understanding of software security
