Keysight’s Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California exists to provide precision machined components that enable the capabilities of Keysight’s industry leading electronic measurement equipment.
As a PMTC Machinist Intern-Apprentice you will learn and support precision machining operations utilizing Swiss-style lathes and advanced inspection equipment to guarantee components meet Keysight’s exacting standard. You will also rotate through several areas of the Machinist trade such as: Secondary Hand Operations, Tool Grinding, Preventative Maintenance, and Inspection.Collaborating with Keysight Machinists and peers, you will learn all the skills needed to complete the CTMAA CNC Machinist program to become a certified Journeyman Machinist in California. This program is a 4-year apprenticeship. Education assistance provided.

Program Requirements:
The Machinist Apprentice is required to meet all CTMAA standards for CNC Machinist set by the CTMAA Committee, available on the CTMAA website. The Apprentice will report to an on-site Operations Manager sponsor.
The Apprentice must remain actively enrolled in an accredited CTMAA program.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a training worksheet to track training progress and development requirements. The sponsor will sign off the completed tasks on the training worksheet. The sign off indicates that the Intern can demonstrate that they can perform the tasks/functions they have been trained on.
- Meeting with the sponsor and CTMAA coordinator monthly to review the training worksheet and discuss any development or training concerns.
Qualifications:
Keysight is looking for a highly motivated individual with the desire to learn advanced machining skills. This is a PMTC intern-apprenticeship position for a Swiss-style lathe Machinist. The ideal candidate has a passion for precision and detail, willingness to learn, and works well as a team member.A positive self-starter attitude, dedication and flexibility are a must.
Pay Range
USD $20.00 - USD $40.00 Hour
This is an apprenticeship position and most offers will be on the lower end of the scale, based on previous experience.
