Overview:

The MD Clinical Education Manager will perform duties independently and exercise judgement to manage our Student Coordinators across all 8 MD Program Clerkships. The MD Clinical Education Manager will be directly responsible for the performance management, personnel development and coaching of the Student Coordinators and is responsibility for logistics and schedules associated with the clinical phase.
Will temporarily cover open student coordinator duties during times of employee turnover while the position is expeditiously filled. Regularly communicates with the Clerkship Directors to ensure satisfaction with employee performance and will address concerns in a timely manner and in compliance with institutional policy.
Exemplary computer, organization and people skills are required for ensuring student coordinators are meeting expected performance levels as communicated by the Clerkship Directors. Obtains the knowledge necessary to serve as a subject matter expert for policies and procedures at the institutional, AAMC and LCME levels regarding clerkship administration.
Provides guidance, advice, training, troubleshooting and serves as a resource to internal and external customers and stake holders. Enforces accreditation standards, institutional policies and FERPA compliance applicable to medical student coordination.

Utilizes strong organizational skills and sound judgement to ensure student coordinators are meeting internal and external deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance management, personnel development and coaching of the Student Coordinators
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with stakeholders both internally and externally to keep projects on schedule and ensure project deliverables
  • Regularly communicates with the Clerkship Directors to ensure satisfaction with employee performance and will address concerns in a timely manner and in compliance with institutional policy.
  • Maintain the Clinical Education website and assist with communication to faculty and students to include the Learning Management System, student scheduling system, evaluation system(s) and other databases for processing and facilitation of student activities.
  • Temporarily covers open student coordinator duties during times of employee turnover while the position is expeditiously filled.
  • Enforces accreditation standards, institutional policies and FERPA compliance applicable to medical student coordination.
  • Obtains the knowledge necessary to serve as a subject matter expert for policies and procedures at the institutional, AAMC and LCME levels regarding clerkship administration.

Qualifications:

Strong Written Communication and Attention to Detail: Proficiency in composing and editing communication with internal and external stakeholders

Data Management: Ability to gather, manage, and report large amounts of data accurately using electronic systems, ensuring all information is correct.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills: Skilled in working with diverse groups, including students, faculty, and administration, to collect feedback and ensure clear communication of updates and processes.

Time Management and Organizational Skills: Competence in managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and keeping stakeholders informed of progress throughout the process.

Problem-Solving and Process Improvement Skills: Ability to identify opportunities for improving processes and procedures related to MSPE preparation, with the initiative to develop and implement effective solutions.

Required software skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint

Preferred candidate holds prior experience working in medical education.
