Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of the Regional Sales Director
As a Regional Sales Director at Model 1, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, developing your team, and strengthening customer relationships. Your leadership will directly impact revenue, market expansion, and the overall success of our dealership network.
Sales Strategy and Market Growth- Lead tactical sales initiatives within your region by conducting joint sales calls with team members on a regular basis.
- Drive high-performance sales execution across commercial vehicle product lines, with a focus on increasing market share, revenue, and profitability.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets to expand our regional presence.
- Conduct detailed market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics.
- Develop a deep understanding of local competitors, their sales strategies, pricing, and inventory positioning.
- Assist the Regional Vice President (RVP) of Sales in quota setting, forecasting, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team while identifying and addressing any coverage gaps.
- Implement structured onboarding and ongoing training programs to strengthen sales skills and product knowledge.
- Foster a collaborative and motivating team environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on coaching and frontline leadership in deal strategy, negotiations, and closing complex transactions.
- Attend key customer meetings to support sales reps and ensure successful deal execution.
- Conduct quarterly performance evaluations, monthly one-on-one coaching, and ongoing mentorship to develop individual and team success.
- Hold the team accountable for achieving sales quotas, making strategic adjustments when necessary to stay on target.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners, ensuring their needs shape our approach to market.
- Manage a select portfolio of high-profile accounts, providing personalized attention and strategic guidance.
- Partner with the RVP of Sales to capture customer feedback and integrate insights into regional go-to-market strategies.
- Represent Model 1 at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand our network and enhance brand visibility.
- Provide the RVP with regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analytics to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams—including marketing, operations, and finance—to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
- Serve as an escalation point for sales representatives, offering guidance and solutions when challenges arise.
- Assist the RVP in developing and managing the regional sales budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Champion the use of CRM tools (HubSpot) and sales processes to enhance productivity, pipeline management, and accountability.
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Year-over-year revenue, unit sales, and profitability growth in the region.
- Expansion of market share and penetration into new markets.
- Team performance, development, and retention.
- New customer acquisitions and long-term relationship building.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience and progress in sales leadership roles.
- Experience within a large regional / national dealership atmosphere is a plus.
- Documented ability to precisely forecast and exceed sales targets, driving revenue growth.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- This is a road warrior position, and the candidate must have a willingness to travel via plane and car within the assigned region approximately 75% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Experience within the commercial vehicle industry or another related industry, including commercial/mid-sized B2B sales.
- Deep knowledge of the commercial vehicle market, including key players, customer segments, and emerging trends is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.

Pay Range: $110,000 to $125,000 plus commission and commission override
