Duties and Responsibilities -Conduct echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart) to assess heart function and structure, including valves, chambers, and blood flow.-Use Doppler ultrasound to measure blood flow through the heart and vessels.-Capture high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis of heart conditions like heart disease, valve disorders, or congenital defects.-Position patients properly to obtain optimal images, adjusting equipment as needed for different body types or specific diagnostic requirements.-Operate specialized echocardiography equipment, adjusting settings to capture accurate images.-Maintain and calibrate ultrasound machines to ensure they are functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions for repair.-Monitor patients during exams, especially in stress or emergency situations, and provide immediate assistance if needed.-Prepare preliminary reports summarizing findings, such as heart wall thickness, valve function, or abnormalities in blood flow.
