Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This position provides professional and technical skills to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene and the protection of patients in the provision of patient care. This position performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient in the unit. This position reports to the Director of Critical Care Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit. Knowledge of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing. Current CA Registered Nurse license, current CPR and ACLS. Acute care hospital experience required. BSN preferred. Previous leadership or management experience preferred. Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements: Orientation, Environment of Care, OSHA, Infection Control, Abuse/ Neglect, and Ethics. Tuberculosis Screening, BLS.

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
