About Our Client

Our client is a reputable affordable housing development organization located in New York. Being a medium-sized organization, they are dedicated to empowering individuals by providing affordable housing, promoting health and wellness, and creating opportunities for their community.

Job Description
  • Manage and oversee properties, ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Establish rental rates and negotiate leases
  • Attract tenants by advertising vacancies, obtaining referrals, and showing units
  • Investigate and resolve tenant complaints in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and manage property maintenance projects
  • Ensure all properties comply with local and state property requirements
  • Conduct regular property inspections to assess condition
  • Maintain property records and prepare reports

The Successful Applicant

A successful Property Manager should have:

  • Managed affordable housing developments previously
  • Proven experience in property management or relevant position
  • Strong understanding of property management and its financial aspects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of property laws and regulations
  • Ability to handle crisis situations effectively
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Will have worked for a non-profit or affordable housing developer
  • An understanding of Low Income Tax Credits/LIHTC
  • Section 8 experience is desired.
