Facillity Security Specialist (Part Time) - San Jose

Render is seeking a dedicated Part-Time **Facility Security Specialist** to assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining and managing the security program for a cleared contractor facility. The ideal candidate will support a wide range of security functions, ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations and company policies related to national security and classified materials.The candidate must be able to work a hybrid schedule supporting work at our headquarters building in California, Maryland.
**Key Responsibilities:**- Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with day-to-day security operations and compliance with government regulations (e.g., NISPOM, ICDs, JSIG).
- Prepare for and support the Annual Security Inspections with DCSA.
- Track and process security clearance investigations through tools such as DISS and NBIS.
- Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for facility personnel.
- Process badge requests for government facilities and handle outgoing visit requests.
- Assist in preparing, issuing, and maintaining DD254s and ensuring the security of classified documents.
- Assist in conducting security self-inspections and audits to maintain compliance.
- Support the implementation of security policies and ensure adherence to all applicable guidelines for handling sensitive materials and safeguarding National Security Information (NSI).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting security programs in a DoD environment, specifically in SAP/SCI settings.
- Familiarity with security tools such as DISS, NBIS, and SWFT.
- Experience with processing and maintaining personnel security clearances.
- Strong understanding of security regulations and compliance, including NISPOM and related guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain/maintain an active Top Secret clearance.
Education:
- A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

This position has an hourly rate of $25.00 to $50.00 based on annualized USD. This part-time position allows participating in our 401(k) matching opportunities consistent with plan qualifications. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and education and in consideration of internal pay equality.
The qualified candidate must be a US Citizen with an active/current DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
