Building Management System Technician

Overview:
Middlesex County’s Office of Facilities Management is actively seeking an experienced Building Management System Technician to join our team! The Office of Facilities Management reports directly to the Department of Infrastructure Management.The Office is responsible for maintaining County-owned buildings and the professional management, direction, maintenance, and control of all County-owned facilities.

- Monitor and diagnose BMS systems including HVAC, lighting, automation, and security systems.
- Perform system maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide recommendations on improving system performance.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to building systems.
- Write detailed documentation of system operations and maintenance.
- Guidance on the Install, maintenance, and repair of the BMS systems.
- Analyze system performance data and implement improvements.
- Ensure all BMS operations comply with regulations and standards.
- Implement upgrades and updates to improve performance & functionality.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in BMS software and tools such as graphical user interfaces, programming languages, data analysis, and reporting is required.
- At least one year of proven experience as a BMS Technician.
- Technical Certification, associate’s degree, and/or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of BMS, HVAC, lighting, building automation, and security systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems preferably with Honeywell and Niagra.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
