We are looking an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our finance department. This role will be responsible for supporting 4 manufacturing plants and managing payroll for 200 employees. The AP Specialist will also be handling Excel reporting and utilising Solomon Accounting software.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial management skills, with a focus on accuracy and responsiveness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review and verify invoices and check requests and sort, code and match invoices.
  2. Manage the weekly and monthly processing of invoices, debit notes and payments.
  3. Handle payroll for approximately 200 employees across multiple locations.
  4. Ensure that all financial deadlines are met in a timely manner, measure against forecast/budget for all manufacturing plants.
  5. Maintain vendor relationships and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
  6. Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
  7. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports to help with the financial audit.
  8. Maintain accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
  9. Utilize Excel for reporting and analysis purposes.
  10. Use Solomon Accounting software to record, store, and analyse financial data.
  11. Assist with other accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. OR 5 plus years in a dedicated AP position
  2. Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Excel and familiar with data entry.
  4. Proficiency in Solomon Accounting software.
  5. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
  6. High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness.
  7. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  8. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation.
  • Demonstrable experience in Accounts Payable (AP).
  • Knowledge of Check Runs and Coding Invoices.
  • Strong Data Entry skills.
  • Experience in Invoice Processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with MS Great Plains Solomon.
  • Experience in Domestic Payroll.
  • Experience in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees.
  • Understanding of Payroll Functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
