Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation treatments to cancer patients following the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist. The Radiation Therapist operates various highly technical equipment with accuracy and precision. The Radiation Therapist participates in clinical and/or didactic instruction and evaluation of Radiation Therapist (RTT) Students.

The Radiation Therapist adheres to established policies and procedures of the department. The Therapist complies with local, state and federal rules and regulations and the requirements of accrediting bodies.

  • 65 years) and geriatric (66 and older).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree from an approved program in Radiologic Technology with completion of approved curriculum in Radiation Therapy.
  • Must be board certified in Radiation Therapy, or board eligible. Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists
  • Commonwealth of KY Radiation Operator Certificate.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of 6 months of prior experience as a Radiation Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years experience in Radiation Therapy
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiation Therapy
