Northramp is looking for driven, creative individuals interested in helping grow something truly unique in our marketspace. The ideal candidate will be part of a large project team that is tasked to provide cloud platform and IT solution migration support for a large federal agency.

Specifically, this team will provide advisory and technical implementation services to modernize the services offered across the agency’s 4 cloud platforms and agency’s IT solution delivery infrastructure to streamline IT service and solution development, testing and deployment within their cloud environment.

To support this initiative, Northramp seeks a mid-level candidate that has broad experience providing DevOps advisory and technical support within a multi-cloud environment. Previous experience working in an Agile and DevSecOps environment managing 2 or more cloud platforms, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to work independently is a must.

The candidate must be familiar with building and managing continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies to support both cloud platform modernization efforts as well as IT solution migration efforts. The candidate should also have familiarity and experience building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) environments, using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, to enable scalable, automated and consistent infrastructure and configuration management.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating and communicating solution architecture to stakeholders, as well as leading design, implementation and testing of new software components built on a technology stack using industry standard tools and design patterns.

It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communication skills and have a wide depth of knowledge and hands on experience with various technologies, and environments.

We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer who will:

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using industry standard practices for container based and cloud-based applications
  • Work with product management to translate requirements into technical design and provide estimates
  • Build and maintain IaC and CaC environments to streamline deployments while automating and implementing scalable infrastructure and configuration management processes
  • Help design, document, and maintain system artifacts including, but not limited to, solution architecture and information workflow diagrams
  • Support Agile-based activities and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Scrum cadences
  • Epic and user story development and tracking
  • User story blocker analysis and resolution
  • Build and maintain relationships with project team members and client stakeholders
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to clients
  • Assist application teams with triaging cloud and Kubernetes-based issues
  • Design solutions with security in mind

Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Work closely with teammates and clients to deliver high-quality, code driven solutions
  • Identify and resolve bugs and inefficiencies in current solutions
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time
  • Adhere to Agile development methodology and best practices
  • Possess experience with the following technologies:
  • Docker and OpenShift or related container orchestration tool
  • Jenkins or other CI/CD tools
  • Familiarity with providing DevOps services across at least 2 of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, OCI
  • Git and Gitlab
  • Scripting expertise (i.e., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Database management (i.e, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Java and Angular applications
  • Provide feedback to teammates on technical implementation, documents and code reviews
Required Qualifications
  • US Citizenship and ability to pass a Public Trust background check.
  • 4+ years of DevOps experience
  • 3+ years software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of working with at least 2 cloud platforms listed above
  • At least one certification demonstrating administration or development expertise on a cloud platform (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, Google Associate Cloud
  • 2+ years of setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to work independently and to be a self-starter and able to operate in a proactive way
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; logical thinker and intellectual curiosity
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field
  • Experience working with Atlassian suite of project management tools (JIRA, Insight, Confluence)
  • At least one industry recognized DevOps Engineer certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or equivalent.

Clearance
